Konya, World Capital of Sport 2023

ACES Europe has declared the Turkish city of Konya as World Capital of Sport 2023. A top-level sports facilities that will soon host the Solidarity Islamic Games, 80% of the active population, a 550 km cycle path (one of the longest in the world) and an expected investment of 300 million euros in the next two years are more than enough arguments to be a world reference after Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), World Capital of Sport in 2019, Guadalajara (Mexico) in 2020-2021 and Madrid (Spain) in 2022.

‘An exemplary city, a first-class sports team and a desire to continuously improve complete an extraordinary and unique candidacy,’ said Gian F. Lupattelli, President and Founder of ACES Europe which is already working on the 2024 nominations for the World Capital of Sport.
