Webinar series to promote the “Greenest City of Sport” award
ACES, in collaboration with Sinnple, is launching a new webinar series aimed at presenting and promoting the “Greenest City of Sport” award, an innovative initiative that connects sport and sustainability at the municipal level.
The online sessions, open and free to participants, will explore how sport can play a key role in building more sustainable, inclusive, and environmentally responsible cities.
The “Greenest City of Sport” award recognises cities that actively integrate sustainability into their sports policies and projects. It highlights municipalities that promote sport with a positive environmental impact, implement sustainable management of sports facilities, and develop innovative and socially-driven initiatives for their citizens.
During the webinar, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the award, including its objectives, evaluation criteria, and application process. The session will also explain what types of projects are considered, how the rules work, and how cities can successfully position themselves as leaders in sustainable sport development.
This initiative builds on the success of the first edition, won by Alcobendas, which demonstrated a strong commitment to combining sport policies with environmental responsibility and social impact.
The webinar series will take place on different dates and regions, including:
- April 23 (10:00 CET – Spain)
- May 21 (16:00 CET – LATAM)
- June 18 (11:00 CET – EU, English session)
Through this initiative, ACES continues to strengthen its mission of supporting cities in developing innovative, impactful, and sustainable sports strategies across Europe and beyond.
Cities interested in taking part will have the opportunity to discover how they can compete for the “Greenest City of Sport” title and become a benchmark in the intersection of sport, sustainability, and community development.
