UCL TV joins ACES as media partner for the 2025 American Week of Sport
UCL TV Spain, the new Movistar+ channel (dial 143) that connects the Americas and Europe, has joined forces with ACES to become the media partner of the American Week of Sport (AWS) 2025. This event will take place from September 23 to 30 with the aim of promoting physical activity and the development of sport throughout the Americas, encouraging a healthier lifestyle that has a positive impact on people.
“Through physical activity, we seek to generate a major social impact, improving quality of life and productivity, while also reducing healthcare costs related to sedentary lifestyles, stress, and obesity. We want to promote social cohesion and encourage women’s participation in sport, reinforcing gender equity messages,” explained Gian F. Lupattelli, president and founder of ACES.
For his part, Jorge Brown, president of the UCL TV Spain Council, stated: “From our channel, we are committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle, and that is why we want to be part of the American Week of Sport. Furthermore, this agreement with ACES will help give the event greater visibility.”
With a strong presence in nearly 100 million households across fifteen Latin American countries, and backed by organizations such as CERTAL and the Organization of American States (OAS) – of which it is the official news channel – UCL TV arrived in Spain last spring to showcase the richness and diversity of Ibero-America, with programming that includes news, music, sports, culture, and entertainment.
UCL TV is more than a channel – it is a bridge between cultures. Its mission is to connect Ibero-American audiences in Spain with their roots, cultures, and countries of origin. The channel can be watched on platforms such as Movistar, Sol, Claro, DirecTV, Movistar América, and Tigo, as well as on digital services like Smart TV and UCL Go.
Now, it is fully engaged with the American Week of Sport 2025, which will feature a series of activities across the entire American continent (competitions, independent events, outdoor exercise programs, and educational talks) for people of all ages and fitness levels.
The starting signal will take place on September 19 in Zapopan (Jalisco, Mexico). ACES America recalls that the 2024 edition – whose official opening was held in Chorrillos, Peru – was a great success, setting historic records:
- Nearly 5 million participants
- 1,963 registered events (a 513.4% increase compared to 2023)
- 13 countries involved
- 64 participating cities, including capitals and highly dynamic municipalities
