Transforming London into the healthiest city by ACES
At the Active LDN 2024 conference, held at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium in London, ACES board member André de Jeu delivered an inspiring keynote on transforming London into the healthiest city in the world.
Addressing nearly 300 participants, De Jeu emphasized the role of physical activity as “the most affordable medicine for society,” highlighting its potential to bridge healthcare and social inclusion. He called for data-driven policymaking to ensure investments in sport and physical activity reach those who need it most.
Michelle Vorel-Adams, ACES delegate for the UK, also presented on the impactful work of ACES, encouraging English cities to pursue prestigious ACES awards to foster community engagement and inclusivity.
The event spotlighted the power of sport and physical activity in addressing health inequalities and creating healthier communities, laying a blueprint for London’s journey toward becoming Europe’s healthiest city.
