Leon declared American Capital of Sport 2023

The Mexican city of Leon was officially declared American Capital of Sport for the year 2023 following the good example done by Guadalajara, World Capital of Sport 2020 and 2021.

Mexico has a high quality of sportive cities and Leon is a reference in this sense deserving the title for its facilities, programmes, active people, athletes and sport events as they showed in the evaluation visit done at the end of March including the physical activity in the political agenda as improving of quality of life.
