Kayseri, Les Franqueses and Tatras honored with the Golden Flag
ACES has announced the winners of the prestigious Golden Flag 2024, recognizing the cities and communities that have excelled in promoting sports throughout the year. Kayseri, in Türkiye, has been named the Best European City of Sport 2024, while Les Franqueses del Vallès, in Spain, has been awarded the title of Best European Town of Sport. Meanwhile, the Tatras region, in Slovakia, has been recognized as the Best European Community of Sport.
These accolades are based on an evaluation carried out by Kosice University, which assessed the efforts of all the awarded cities. The Golden Flag winners have demonstrated exceptional dedication to fostering a healthy lifestyle, encouraging sports participation across all age groups, and developing sports infrastructure.
ACES President and Founder Gian Francesco Lupattelli expressed his enthusiasm about the competition, stating: “This competition is always very passionate because everyone fights to be the best of the year.” He praised the high level of commitment shown by all cities involved.
The Golden Flag will be officially presented on December 12th during the Annual Awards Gala at the European Parliament in Brussels, a ceremony that celebrates the efforts of communities to promote sports across Europe and Worldwide.
