Great success of the fifth edition of AIVA

The fifth edition of the ACES International Video Awards (AIVA) was held with great success as part of the 15th edition of the Overtime Festival, with the participation of administrations, institutions, and representatives from four continents.

With 28 videos in competition, the 2025 edition set a new record for participation, confirming the strength of a project capable of connecting territories, cultures, and diverse visions through the universal language of sport.

Following the official press conference held at the Venice International Film Festival, the two-day event in Macerata featured two main moments:

• October 10 – A round table dedicated to audiovisual themes related to Culture, Sport, and Tourism in the digital era, with the participation of Italian and European institutions and administrations;

• October 11 – The awards ceremony at the Teatro Lauro Rossi, attended by local students who enlivened the event with enthusiasm and curiosity.

This year’s edition reached a historic milestone: for the first time, the main award for “Best Overall Video” was won by a foreign administration, Veszprem-Balaton (Hungary). The film was recognized by the jury as the best overall for its artistic quality, communicative value, and emotional impact.

The Audience Award went to the City of Mariánské Lázně (Czech Republic), which won over the more than 300 students present in the audience.

“This edition marked a moment of growth and international openness for our network,” said Vincenzo Lupattelli, Vice President of ACES. “The language of sports audiovisuals continues to transcend borders, bringing together people and communities through shared sporting and cultural values.”

“Once again, a great success for AIVA that makes us proud,” added Michele Spagnuolo, President of the Pindaro Association, “as did the important round table on sports policy held on October 10, featuring the contributions of the attending delegations and several Members of the European Parliament, both in person and via video.”

Behind the scenes, a network of high-profile collaborations made the success of the event possible: ICSC, Pindaro Eventi, Cineguida, the Veneto Region, and the Office of the European Parliament in Italy, with the support of CONI, Sport e Salute, CIP, ANCI, USSI, City of Macerata, EPSI, World Football Summit, La Vuelta, Decathlon, and GSIC.
