EU Sport Forum

An ACES delegation, led by Alessio Di Maio, participated in the EU Sport Forum in Krakow, Poland, from 9 to 11 April. A useful opportunity to take stock of the many European initiatives (and challenges) in the sports field, and to strengthen ACES’ commitment to spreading sports practice among all European citizens, also in its role as Official Partner of the European Commission for the European Week of Sport.

The intense two-day work was inaugurated by the EU Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport, Mr. Glenn Micallef.

The ACES delegation met several stakeholders, including Kirstie Simpson – President of the European Observatoire of Sport and Employment; Diana Bianchedi – Chief Strategy Planning & Legacy Officer of Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics; Anca-Maria Ionescu – Head of service of the National Agency for Sport Romania; and representatives of outdoor sports related entities, such as the European Hiking Federation and the European Network of Sports Outdoors.
