Buenos Aires and Porto-Gaia: finalists for the 2027 World Capital of Sport

ACES is pleased to announce that Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Porto-Gaia (Portugal) have been selected as the two finalists for the prestigious 2027 World Capital of Sport award. These cities have demonstrated exceptional dedication to promoting sport, health, and community engagement, embodying the values and principles of ACES.

During March and April 2025, the evaluation committee will visit both cities to assess their projects, infrastructure, and commitment to sport. These visits will be crucial in determining which city will succeed Baku, the World Capital of Sport 2026, and take on the mantle in 2027.

The winner will be announced this year, highlighting the city that best exemplifies the spirit of sport as a tool for social inclusion, health, and innovation.
