ACES presented the 2026 American Week of Sport during the American Minister Council (CADE) Sports Summit held in Asunción, with the participation of sports ministers and institutional representatives from across the continent.
The presentation was led by the president of ACES America, Adriana Sánchez Parés, who highlighted the growth and impact of the initiative as a platform promoting sport, recreation and physical activity as tools for health, inclusion and social development.
The 2025 edition of the American Week of Sport officially opened in Zapopan and brought together more than 8 million participants in 91 cities across 14 countries through over 4,500 events. Including the participation figures from Bogotá’s Ciclovía, the total number exceeded 12 million people, consolidating the initiative as one of the largest continental platforms for sport and physical activity promotion.
ACES America also unveiled the strategic vision for the 2026 edition, which will officially open in Guayaquil next September. The new edition aims to expand participation, strengthen institutional cooperation and further increase the social impact of sport across the region.
During the summit, ACES America reinforced its commitment to supporting and recognizing cities and institutions that promote sport as a driver of social transformation. The organization also highlighted the launch of “W by ACES America”, part of the ACES Woman initiative, focused on increasing women’s leadership and visibility within the sports ecosystem.
The visit to Asunción also included bilateral meetings with representatives from the United States, Paraguay, Ecuador, Aruba and El Salvador to strengthen partnerships and continue expanding the continental network for sport and physical activity promotion.
