April, month of Physical Activity

ACES, in collaboration with the Red D+D (Deporte para el Desarrollo) and UNESCO, has once again launched the Month of Physical Activity and Sport, an international initiative aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and the fundamental role of sport in society.

Throughout the month of April, cities, institutions, and organizations from different countries are invited to take part in a wide range of activities designed to encourage physical exercise, well-being, and social inclusion through sport.

This initiative aligns with the celebration of key international dates such as the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace (April 6) and the World Health Day (April 7), reinforcing the importance of physical activity as a driver of health, education, and social cohesion.

The Month of Physical Activity and Sport seeks to:

  • Promote regular physical activity among citizens of all ages
  • Raise awareness about the benefits of active lifestyles
  • Strengthen community engagement through sport
  • Highlight the role of sport in sustainable development

ACES encourages all member cities and partners to actively participate and share their initiatives, contributing to a global movement that places sport and health at the center of society.
