Alcobendas, Liguria and Čelákovice named Europe’s Best for 2025

ACES has announced the three top awardees for 2025: Alcobendas (Spain), Liguria (Italy), and Čelákovice (Czech Republic). Each has been recognized as Number One European City, Region and Town of Sport 2025, respectively, standing out for their exceptional commitment to promoting physical activity, community engagement, and sports development.

These three territories represent the very best of Europe’s sporting values — inclusion, health, education, and social cohesion through sport. Their achievements embody the mission of ACES, a partner of UNESCO and UCLG (United Cities and Local Governments), in fostering sustainable and accessible sports policies across the continent.

The official Gold Flag Awards Ceremony will take place on December 11th, 2025, at the European Parliament in Brussels, during the Annual ACES Europe Gala. Representatives from Alcobendas, Liguria, and Čelákovice will receive their prestigious Golden Flags in recognition of their outstanding dedication to sport and community well-being.
