ACES supports joint statement on the Future of the Sporting Goods Sector in Europe
ACES has officially joined a broad coalition of European sports organisations and industry leaders in supporting the Joint Statement on the Future of the Sporting Goods Sector, published this May by the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI) and several key stakeholders.
This important declaration highlights the critical role of the sporting goods ecosystem in promoting health, sustainability, innovation, and economic growth across the European Union. It also urges EU policymakers to recognise sport as a strategic sector and to include it in future industrial strategies and funding frameworks.
“As an organisation committed to promoting sport and physical activity across European cities and regions, ACES is proud to endorse this initiative,” said Gian Francesco Lupattelli, President of ACES. “Sport is not only a tool for social cohesion and wellbeing, but also a driver of green innovation, job creation, and European identity.”
By signing the joint statement, ACES joins forces with leading institutions such as UEFA, the EOC EU Office, EHF, and major companies in the sports industry. Together, they call for a more ambitious and coordinated approach to:
• Supporting physical activity and access to sport for all,
• Encouraging innovation and sustainability in sporting goods,
• Including sport in future EU strategic frameworks.
ACES Europe reaffirms its commitment to collaborating with EU institutions, national governments, and industry partners to ensure that sport continues to be recognised as a pillar of a healthier, more active, and competitive Europe.
