ACES promotes international cooperation in Mountain Areas

From July 25 to 27, 2025, the “ACES – Mountain Destination” meeting took place in Folgaria (Italy), bringing together public administrations and key stakeholders from the fields of sport, tourism, and territorial development. The event aimed to foster a shared reflection on the role of sport in supporting the sustainable growth of mountain regions.

The initiative saw the heartfelt and active participation of 9 public administrations from 6 countries(Andorra, Croatia, Finland, Italy, Slovenia, and Turkey) and 10 public and private stakeholders, reflecting broad institutional interest and a strong willingness to collaborate across territories.

As a result of the discussions and collaborative spirit that marked the event, a draft version of the ACES Manifesto has been developed. This document summarizes the main ideas and shared guidelines that emerged during the working sessions, offering a collective vision for the future of mountain communities through the lenses of sport, tourism, sustainability, and quality of life.
