ACES gears up for the 12th European Week of Sport
The 12th edition of the European Week of Sport will officially kick off on 23 September, with ACES once again fully engaged in supporting one of the European Commission’s flagship initiatives in the field of sport and physical activity.
An ACES delegation will travel to Dublin, Ireland, to take part in the official opening of the European Week of Sport 2026, joining institutions, organisations and stakeholders from across Europe in celebrating the start of a new edition of the initiative.
As an official partner of the European Commission for the European Week of Sport, ACES continues to reinforce its commitment to encouraging citizens to embrace more active lifestyles under the #BeActive message, while promoting sport as a powerful driver of well-being, inclusion, social cohesion and community development.
This year, ACES will further strengthen the dissemination of the European Week of Sport throughout its extensive network of Cities and Regions with two important digital tools.
The ACES Activa App will play a central role, offering ACES Cities and Regions across Europe an innovative platform to register, promote and give visibility to their sporting events and seminars taking place from 1 to 30 September. The aim is to showcase the extraordinary level of activity generated by the ACES network and demonstrate the capacity of local and regional authorities to bring the #BeActive message directly to citizens.
In parallel, ACES will develop a Digital Agenda of Events, with at least one page dedicated to each participating ACES City and Region. This publication will become a comprehensive showcase of the activities organised throughout September and a lasting record of the contribution made by the ACES network to the European Week of Sport.
Through these new tools and the active participation of its municipalities and regions, ACES aims to give even greater visibility to the European Week of Sport and encourage thousands of citizens to discover new opportunities to practise sport and physical activity.
The official opening in Dublin on 23 September will therefore mark the highlight of a month in which the ACES network will mobilise across Europe with a common goal: to make sport and physical activity accessible to everyone and to keep Europe #BeActive — not only during the European Week of Sport, but all year long.
More active cities. More active communities. A more active Europe. #BeActive
