ACES and ParaVolley Europe sign a Memorandum of Understanding to promote inclusive sport across Europe
ACES and ParaVolley Europe (PVE) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing a strategic partnership aimed at promoting inclusive sport, accessibility and equal opportunities throughout Europe.
The agreement reflects the shared commitment of both organisations to strengthen cooperation with municipalities, regions and sport institutions in order to encourage participation in sport for everyone, regardless of age, gender or ability. Through this collaboration, ACES and ParaVolley Europe will promote inclusive sporting policies, exchange best practices, support educational initiatives and encourage the development of accessible sporting environments within local communities.
The Memorandum also provides a framework for promoting ParaVolley within the ACES network of Capitals, Cities, Regions, Islands, Communities and Towns of Sport, while encouraging ParaVolley Europe’s member federations and partners to engage with the ACES Awards and their mission of using sport as a tool for health, social inclusion and community development.
Commenting on the agreement, Gian Francesco Lupattelli, President of ACES, stated:
“By signing this agreement with PVE, ACES reinforces its commitment to inclusion and to the promotion of sport as a right and an opportunity for everyone, regardless of their abilities or circumstances. Through this collaboration, we aim to develop inclusive sporting policies and initiatives, remove barriers to participation and ensure that sport becomes a powerful instrument for equality, social integration and community well-being.”
Branko Mihorko, President of ParaVolley Europe, also welcomed the partnership:
“By joining forces with ACES, ParaVolley Europe is opening new possibilities for communities across Europe – from villages and towns to cities and entire regions. This partnership will bring paravolley closer to people, support the development of inclusive sporting activities, strengthen local networks and create meaningful opportunities for wider participation. Together, we can demonstrate how inclusive sport builds equality, connection and stronger communities.”
The agreement, which has an initial duration of three years, confirms the intention of both organisations to work together on conferences, educational programmes, sporting events and institutional initiatives that promote accessibility, diversity and social cohesion through sport. It also underlines the important role that local authorities play in ensuring that sport is accessible to every citizen.
Through this partnership, ACES and ParaVolley Europe reaffirm their belief that inclusive sport is not only a fundamental right but also a powerful driver for healthier, stronger and more connected communities across Europe.
