4th edition of ACES International Video Awards presented in Venice

On August 31, 2024, the 4th edition of the ACES International Video Awards was officially presented at a press conference held at the Veneto Region – Veneto Film Commission space at the Hotel Excelsior, during the prestigious 81st Venice International Film Festival. The event, organized by ACES Italia, celebrates the creativity of municipalities recognized by ACES as European Capital/Region/City/Town/Community of Sport.

This year’s competition has garnered 23 entries from 13 countries across three continents, with participation from major cities awarded by ACES Europe. Notable entries include Buenos Aires, a candidate for World Capital of Sport 2027; Genoa, European Capital of Sport 2024; Castilla-La Mancha, European Region of Sport 2024; Apulia, a candidate for European Region of Sport 2026; and Naples, European Capital of Sport 2026. The contest reinforces the bonds within the international ACES community, which spans across four continents.

“I am honored to be here in Venice to present the ACES International Video Awards,” said Vincenzo Lupattelli, President of ACES Italia. “I would like to thank the Veneto Region for their hospitality. There couldn’t be a better stage to further enhance the synergy between sport, cinema, sports tourism, and creativity. My congratulations to all the municipalities that have enthusiastically embraced the sporting values in this fourth edition—may the best win!”

The ACES International Video Awards, supported by the Institute for Sports and Cultural Credit, is endorsed by ANCI, CONI, CIP, Sport & Health, the Municipality of Macerata, and USSI. The media partners for the event are Corriere dello Sport, which will present a special AIVA 2024 award, and Primapress, which will cover live updates throughout the event.
