Sofia has crown in the EU Parliament as European Capital of Sport 2018 after receiving the flag from Marseille, Capital 2017. A big ceremony in the EU Parliament (Brussels) was where the awards gala of ACES Europe took place last December 6th.

More than 35 cities received its recognition between more than 17 different nationalities like Findland, Greece, Italy, Austria, Lithuania, Spain, Bosnia Herzegovina, Italy, Croatia, Slovakia, between others.

Once again the sport was the perfect instrument to unites different countries under the same flag of Europe looking for a most active and more often citizens.

The European Capitals, Cities, Comunities and Towns of Sport will be the reference in the EU during the next 12 months developing best practices, exemplaries sport policies and getting extraordinary results.
