Sesto Calende earned the award of European Swim City 2019

On Saturday June 22, Sesto Calende received the “European Swim City” award, on occasion of the swimming competition which was held for the third time at the pools of “Parco della Pace”, in Pesaro.

The event organised by ACES Europe and Sport Village, a sport company, involved delegations of under-18 swimmers, who represented 11 cities and towns from 4 different countries: Italy, Portugal, South Africa and Spain.

Namely, the cities that were represented were:

Italy: Siena, Jesi, Sesto Calende (winner) and Pesaro
Portugal: Lisbon, Portimao and Odivelas
Spain: Fuenlabrada
South Africa: Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban

Unfortunately, due to the bad weather in the evening, the finals scheduled for 9 pm were suspended. Therefore, the ranking was prepared on the basis of the morning’s performance.

The councilor of sport, Mila della Dora, who attended the competitions in the morning, could observe the atmosphere of joyful competition and youthful brotherhood in full compliance with the healthy principles of sport that has always permeated this event that brings together young athletes from all over the world.
