The Autonomous Community of La Rioja has signed an agreement with ACES Europe promoting sports conceiving physical activity as health, welfare, an integrator, with access for all persons, age and sex in order to get the values of sport promulgated by ACES across Europe to its neighbors. The Minister of Sports, Emilio del Rio, was in charge of the firm with John Swanson, vice president of the association.
Del Rio said that thanks to this collaboration agreement, the Government of La Rioja "further increase its involvement in the promotion of sports, especially those directed at smaller construction and renovation of sports facilities and organizing sports events ".
"In La Rioja live the sport," said the adviser, who recalled the good reception of the Rioja to events like the Davis Cup, a match of the Spanish football or Handball Cup.
Swanson, meanwhile, has framed this agreement on the goal of getting "more active citizens often do more sport." It has also supported the work of La Rioja sport and explained that according to a study in Scotland, every euro invested in sport saves four medical expenses or security.
La Rioja has thus become the first regional government of Spain in initialling this agreement that will soon join new communities. Also, through this agreement will now autonomous government who propose to ACES Europe cities or villages eligible for the prize.
