The recognition of Guadalajara as World Capital of Sport impressed the former Mexican President Vicente Fox, who warmly congratulated the Mexican city for this distinction.

In his Twitter account, the ex-president wrote: “Bravo, @Guadalajara ! Capital of technology in Mexico and now the World Capital of Sport. Results thus are achieved with vision, dedication and commitment. ”

The city was visited and evaluated in November by ACES Europe and officially received its award on 10 December 2019, during the annual ceremony held in the European Parliament.
